Ooof make me feel old why don't you... this isn't Doom, it's Dungeon Master! The grid system, everything moving on a metronome, inventory system etc. I agree this version is shallow but very easy to pick up. Legend Of Grimrock is the modern remake I know, drags you into its complexities level by level. Really good game.
