Stuff from my adult years is digitized, but when I was seeing a specialist she said I would have to go visit the hospital where I was born/seen as a child and hope they still had the paper records. I've been with KP most of my life, yeah. And I think you're right that in most cases, it's not really necessary to have the old records. It would have been useful in this case, but it's a niche case.
