Intel Ultra 7 vs. and Ryzen 8845HS

So for my next laptop, I'm debating between these two CPUs. The Ryzen looks much faster, and better for my needs, music production and light gaming. However it's a bit more expensive than the Ultra 7. I really want something with a screen better than 1080p, I'm seeing Ultra 7 computers for 750 like this. https://www.walmart.com/ip/ASUS-Vivobook-S-15-OLED-PC-Laptop-Intel-Core-Ultra-7-155H-16GB-1TB-SSD-Mist-Blue-S5506MA-WS76-Intel-Evo-Edition/5123764605?clickid=VjVX2OSOgxyPUEJWvzUjjXF1UkHWE7zrkzLVTE0&irgwc=1&sourceid=imp_VjVX2OSOgxyPUEJWvzUjjXF1UkHWE7zrkzLVTE0&veh=aff&wmlspartner=imp_1883484&affiliates_ad_id=568844&campaign_id=9383&sharedid But I can't seem to find an affordable 8845HS laptop with a similar screen.

All that matters is what ARM chips are coming out this year. AMD is ok, but Intel is hopeless. They lost back in the 00's as they haven't really done anything for so long, I don't think they can. AKA... Is this just core2duo again .. again ...again etc

  > All that matters is what ARM chips are coming out this year We'll find out next month, with back-to-back launches of Apple M3 iPads and Qualcomm Elite X (ex-Apple team) laptops from Microsoft & other PC OEMs.

I'll put money on OEMs pricing these too high and missing the mark. One more month to go. Snapdragon has been hyping this for a long time.

Hopefully they price to compete with both Apple (Air has great screen and battery life) and x86 laptops (no crazy markups on RAM/SSD), while keeping their promise for mainline Linux support.

They'd need to come in at 1k with something that beats the M3. I don't really see this happening, but I'll wait until the new laptops come out to buy anything.

That ASUS laptop seems like a decent budget device, provided that shortened battery life is not an issue.

True, looks like it's about 300$ less than the nearest AMD laptop with a similar screen. Here's the full laptop title in case the link breaks. ASUS Vivobook S 15 15.6 inch 3K OLED 120Hz Laptop Intel Core Ultra 7-155H Evo Edition 16GB RAM 1TB SSD Mist Blue (2024)
