This is a short sighted article. Give it time. Apple thinks in terms of years or decades.

- asadotzler 2y agoLook at the size and weight of the Oculus Quest that Facebook started working on in 2015/2016. It was 571 grams. The Quest 3, about 4 years newer and shipped last year at 515 grams and the more capable Meta Quest Pro is 722 grams. The Apple Vision Pro is 650 grams of headset and another 350 grams of battery for a total weight of 1 kilogram or 2.2 pounds. These monstrosities are not shrinking yet because their capabilities aren't good enough yet. They'll keep getting bigger, or treading water at best, for another decade chasing needed capabilities before they start benefiting from a tech shrink. Then, a decade after that, we might have some form factors people aren't embarrassed to be seen wearing. Until then, these 1.5 pound face smashing strap on dorkboxes are not going to be a substantial market.
