Try disabling the Bing integration. Add DWORD registry key and value DisableSearchBoxSuggestions = 1 to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer Classic case of a network call being slower than staying on the local computer (someone in Redmond should have known better)
