Alpine Linux is my daily driver on my workstation and laptop. All my machines look the same thanks to chezmoi. I think about switching to FreeBSD though, because of bhyve (vm-bhyve). Want to give it a try. Curious if it can replace my LXD environment.
- seabrookmx 2y agoAs a happy LXD user, I'm curious what your draw is to bhyve? If you don't need the strict security boundary, Linux containers have drastically better memory management than any VMM I've played with.
- omani 2y agoI heard that bhyve has GPU passthru support now. would be fun to have a rock solid freebsd base system and still be able to use my alpine linux environment within a VM (with X) if needed.
