Sorry for the stupid question that ignores the rest of your excellent summary:
"dismiss with prejudice"
What does 'with prejudice' imply here? I've seen this used many times in various government/legal contexts ('cancelled without prejudice') etc...
What does the 'with/without prejudice' part mean?
- sk5t 14y ago"Dismissed with prejudice" means the matter isn't eligible to be brought before the court again (due to overwhelming bogosity or other such factors).
- kronusaturn 14y agoIt means that the judgment is final and the case cannot be reopened. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prejudice_%28law%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prejudice_%28law%29
