Cracked at least makes a modicum of effort -- they have a stable of columnists who are more focused on being funny or informative than being eye-grabbing (Seanbaby probably being the most well known).
9gag and FunnyJunk are a whole different level of content farming.
- nsmartt 14y agoThis. Cracked was my first thought when reading the post, but Cracked has a load of writers and is one of the sites that gets ripped off often.
- duskwuff 14y ago> Cracked at least makes a modicum of effort In particular, Cracked at least makes a pretty decent attempt to make their (mostly original!) editorial content the focus of their articles. The "listicles" that Maddox is really focusing his ire at here generally have little to no original content at all -- the bulk of their posts are either "borrowed" images or scraped/stolen content.
- gwillen 14y agoHonestly, I consistently find Cracked 'listicles' more insightful than I expect. It's pretty impressive, for what they are.
- DanBC 14y agoYes, I was wrong about cracked and I was unfairly harsh.
