Florida inmates charged for prison cells long after incarceration
- olliej 3y agoThe goal here is to ensure that once you get someone into prison they functionally can never really escape, largely because the US constitution left a giant “you can have slaves” gap, coupled with “you can disenfranchise anyone you want by labeling them a criminal”. Felons, including those in prison, should be able to vote. If the prisoner population is large enough to impact elections the problem is not that prisoners can vote.
