An American company steps up to fight Big Tech censorship

- Arnt 2y agoSo, bulletproof hosting wrapped in an American flag and a principled stance. Browsers and spam filters look at the AS of the sending IP address, so if the other addresses in the same IP range send spam, host malware or engage in phishing, browsers and spam filters hit your address too, more or less. There are ways to lessen and even avoid that, one of which is to change to a different vendor, one that isn't committed to keeping the customers that generate the poor reputation. I wonder how they plan to deal with that. I wonder whether if they even know about it.
- awags23 2y agoEngaging in phishing, hosting malware, and sending spam are illegal activities. We don’t permit anything illegal on American Cloud.
- Arnt 2y agoHow do you plan to handle customers who don't do anything illegal as far as you can tell but who do cause abuse reports, listings on RBLs or similar? You might say I'm asking about the gap between "illegal activities" and "activities that visibly illegal to the hoster".
- knewter 2y agofor what it's worth, I'm familiar with the folks running this and they're highly competent.
