Congress passes bill that could ban TikTok after years of false starts

- morkalork 3y agoSo, how does that work? If they don't want to cooperate in good faith, can they "accidentally on purpose" trash their assets before the handoff? Much like a disgruntled homeowner burning their house before a foreclosure? What would the punishment even be? At that point there's nothing left to hurt them with.
- tonetheman 3y agoIt will not work. Congress is full old people who do not even know what tiktok is. You cannot force a company to sell because you "believe" they are a national security threat. Is there proof they are a national security threat? I mean I believe Fox news is a national security threat, they actively helped a rapist lie and overthrow the US government. Can we force Fox to be sold to some less evil billionaires? If the bill even makes it out of the Senate then it will fail in the courts. It is a waste of time and posturing by old people who should have been replaced years ago.
