- apple4ever 2y agoI wonder if Microsoft grabs them. Sad, because GitLab was great for awhile. Then they stopped fixing bugs and started adding unneeded features, and made their pricing very expensive.
- imglorp 2y agoAnyone want to guess who? I'll start: Jetbrains?
- rickette 2y agoAtlassian
- Apocryphon 2y agoStill don't get why JetBrains hasn't been folded into the Alphabet family yet.
- monocasa 2y agoProbably were waiting to see how the company dealt with the sanctions on Russia first.
- Apocryphon 2y agoTrue, but I was expecting Google to have bought them like a decade ago!
- shagie 2y agoBrains are twisted: JetBrains closed its last legal entity in St. Petersburg - https://www-dp-ru.translate.goog/a/2023/03/01/Mozgi_svernulis?_x_tr_sl=ru&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp&_x_tr_hist=true https://www-dp-ru.translate.goog/a/2023/03/01/Mozgi_svernuli...
- fishnchips 2y agoI’m failing to identify the benefit for the buyer here. What’s your reasoning?
- Apocryphon 2y agoKotlin and Android Studio are intrinsic to the Android development experience.
- fishnchips 2y agoWhy pay for what they get for free, then?
- Apocryphon 2y agoThat's a fair question. Still, you often see companies snap up those who build premier developer tools for their ecosystems.
- axus 2y agoWhat if Apple bought them?
- Apocryphon 2y agoIt'd be a bit like when Google bought Fastlane.
- jacques_chester 2y agoPlease no.
