Show HN: I tried reading an English essay vertically like traditional Japanese [pdf]
Hello HN,
I wanted to read vertical like traditional Japanese but I can't read Japanese, so I wrote an App Script to convert Paul Graham's Maker's Schedule Manager's Schedule in a vertical format.
It's not very useful but I had some fun trying to read it. It starts topright.
- Zambyte 2y agoI actually read the whole essay like this without a problem, and I have never tried to read like this before. It was interesting; thanks for sharing.
- barlog 2y agoHi, jorisboris Nice try! > It's not very useful but I had some fun trying to read it. It starts topright. That's not true. It may not have been helpful, but I hope you got some insight into vertical reading.
- idiocrat 2y agoOne interesting/funny thing that Japanese visitors to Europe/USA observe is that people in bookstores and libraries are turning their heads to the side in front of the bookshelves.
