- simonblack 2y agoLet's be accurate about this. Both US Tech and Mainland Chinese Tech are years behind the Republic of China's Tech on the island of Taiwan. But where Mainland Chinese Tech is advancing rapidly by throwing huge amounts of cash at the problem, the US Tech is expecting to be boosted up by Taiwanese companies building fabs in the US. Saves billions, by doing things 'on the cheap' rather than bettering actual US Tech in its own right.
- verdverm 2y agoTaiwan's tech is dependent on ASML, which is the real keystone to the most advanced semiconductor fabrication. Most of the VHDL and circuit design happens outside of Taiwan too
