Australia wants to hide it's immigrant integration problem. That's what they want it hide this.
Violence depicted in media is quite readily available in Australia.
- evolve2k 2y agoThis came from the esafety commission not from the executive, the commission has separate powers and is free to enact them. And yes in Australia they are seeking to de-escalate political tensions that could arise from sharing the material, such as copycat violence. Further: Initial notices warned social media platforms that footage of the stabbing was illegal 'Class 1 material' and should be removed immediately. Class 1 material is content that promotes or incites violence or is likely to cause offence to a reasonable person.
- brokenmachine 2y agoWhat's interesting to me is that the regular TV networks show the clip every day on the news. They only show the leadup, not the actual stabbing, but you would think that they would not be permitted to show any of it at all, since it has been defined as "content that promotes or incites violence or is likely to cause offence to a reasonable person". But no, it's shown every evening. If I didn't know better, I would be inclined to think that the TV channels were trying to incite violence and cause offence.

Cohen? Really? And to think so many commentators tried to initially blame Muslims." Its almost as twitter is crucial in spreading hatred and misinformation on behalf of adversary regimes.
