Bangladesh built a tech park for 100k workers. Now it's a ghost town

- itikasp 3y agoHello - I was one of the editors on this story. Here to say, thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts. It is indeed sad. We do hope our story revives some of the interest in these facilities that are ready-to-move in but empty. Maybe there are some Bangladeshi entrepreneurs or even a global company looking to build a remote workplace. These facilities could be a good place for them to put down their anchor!
- hilux 3y agoUnfortunately, global companies want more than physical plant - they want the entire set of reliable infrastructure; meanwhile, international employees want to move to a "livable" place that will also meet their social needs. Bit of a chicken-and-egg problem.
- i67vw3 3y agoSame case is for the Dholera City in Western India. No one in their right mind wants to move to the middle of nowhere. https://mahabahu.com/dholera-modis-dream-project-turns-lifeless-and-barren/ https://mahabahu.com/dholera-modis-dream-project-turns-lifel...
