- TheNewsIsHere 3y agoAt least in the Shuttle era, I once heard it said in a way that was something along the lines of “contracted support is basically working to rule; NASA employee components are working to solve problems.” Referring here to contractors as the body of private sector contract organizations that had outsourcing contracts for various support roles, not the individual people. Speaking to working environment.
