Back when I was deciding on my first DSLR, I deliberately chose the Nikon D40, at 6 megapixels, over the new D40x, which had 10 megapixels. I did this because I wanted the larger pixels, and thus better low light performance, of the former. I wore the shutter out on that camera, it was awesome.
