AI could gobble up a quarter of all electricity in the U.S. by 2030
- b112 3y agoNonsense. Improvements in CPUs, GPUs, and dedicated ICs for AI, will drop requirements a thousand fold, if not more. Perhaps even a million fold... All those CPU flags in /proc/cpuinfo mean immense optimization, which means less power. Imagine the same metric about CPU usage and Eniac! Absurd. By 2030, a Raspberry Pi will be able to run immensely complex models.
