Streaming services went right back to linear TV's consumer unfriendly model of bundling a bunch of crap in with the relatively few titles people actually want to consume.
Worse, they went full bore on cranking out largely mediocre, but expensive, "original content" that subscribers subsidize, whether or not they actually consume it.
But, if you want to actually select what you want to watch, then you pay the equivalent of a full month's subscription to "rent" 2-3 titles.
Plus fragmentation.
So, after a compelling, value-oriented start (think early Netflix), the streaming ecosystem has become the antithesis of what consumers want: selection (and selectivity) and convenience at a fair price.
In other words, they've enshittified like everything else.
