My question is, who's the target audience for this?
I only know about Linktree because it's used by some artists and Twitch streamers, and they're unlikely to self-host. So presumably this is targeted to a different audience than that.
- ratrocket 3y agoThat's a good question, for sure. I clicked on the OP (and then here) because the company I work for is in the early stages of bringing this functionality (linktree, ffm.to type thing) in-house, so I was curious to see what's on offer here. We won't use this because we'll end up building something more custom fit for us (more of a full featured "landing page" experience), but this is still interesting to see. (For context, the company works with artists and we launch dozens of projects a year, each of which needs a "link tree" or landing page-style place that's updated constantly for several months bracketing the launch date.)
- Semaphor 3y agoWhy are they unlikely to selfhost? There are those who do that amongst those groups as well.
- samantha-wiki 3y agoI use this for a set of applications that I self host that I give my friends access to. I use it as a quick and easy place to dump a couple links, and I can put it behind a reverse proxy.

- Nexxxeh 3y agoI think pretty much everyone I follow on Insta and Tiktok use Linktree or similar. Several are more than capable of setting this up.
