Ask HN: What are all the different ways a programmer can make money?

- gregjor 2y agoAll of the ways? You had better ask a so-called AI if you want a silly but apparently exhaustive list. In my experience making money programming distills down to one of these: 1. Learn to solve business problems and add value and find an employer, client, or customers who will pay you for that. 2. Get into a funded startup that has vague plans and runway to spend money, then keep repeating buzzwords and “pivoting” until the money runs out or you win the lottery.
- Nextgrid 2y agoTake on multiple menial computer-based jobs (data entry, etc) and automate them.
