This is frighteningly bad design / quality control.
- r2_pilot 2y agoTesla, Boeing, Microsoft, for a minute there I wasn't sure which megacorp you were talking about
- danielfoster 2y agoIt's almost like they contracted the Cybertruck out to Boeing and Spirit Aerosystems, but even they would not have messed up so badly.
- karaterobot 2y agoFrom what I hear about the design and development of Cybertruck, I would not default to blaming anyone but the person at the top. It sounds like a lot of very talented and committed people had to compromise and bend over backwards to accommodate ludicrous micromanagement and absurd timelines.
- yuliyp 2y agoI'm kind of alarmed by them blaming QC when the problem is the shape of the open space around the pedal allowing for such an opportunity. Even if the pedal itself didn't lodge itself there, a sandal or other shoe could similarly get wedged there.
- rasz 2y agoIf it didnt lodge there it would fall off and land under the brake pedal. How fast does Tesla stop with Regenerative Braking System set to Low and no brakes?
- yuliyp 2y agoTake a look at the TikTok video attached. The brake pedal has plenty of clearance around it on all sides, making the odds of this or anything else getting lodged preventing it from moving fairly low. That's not the case for the accelerator, which has the lip that the brake was getting trapped by within an inch of its top.
