- namanyayg 3y agoWhy do you say so? Give ethical scenarios to humans vs gpt and I'm sure gpt will do better than many humans. Humans are brought up with hatred, gpt is trained to not be hateful. And don't say that "code doesn't have emotions". You can only say that you have qualia and empathy for your own individual self, rest of us might be p zombies for all you know.
- yusefnapora 3y agoSo because a few tech enthusiasts never got over solipsism, we all have to pretend that every simulacra of human behavior has a rich inner life?
- namanyayg 3y agoNo, I'm saying it is not necessary to observe an output about ethics or empathy. Large language models work from the large corpuses of human language, which encodes these concepts in itself
- giantg2 3y agoI don't know. Isn't it possible that people who lack empathy such as sociopaths or psychopaths can take care of people because they have learned what the social expectations are without actually feeling the emotion?
- naasking 3y agoDo you have a mechanistic model for empathy or compassion?
- anonzzzies 3y agoMany people who don’t know that it’s an ai or don’t understand what that means are fooled though. People fall in love with AIs and their avatars. What’s the difference?
