Ask HN: How to contribute to science/research on the side?
I'm a big fan of science and research, but I'm aware of the challenges in academia, such as financial compensation, so I would never consider making it my career.
As a software engineer who wants to keep my day job, what are some options for helping fellow scientists and researchers in fields like physics, chemistry, and neuroscience after work?
- eimrine 3y agoIf you know the people you want to help to - help them, it is obvious but at least this is what I do. If you don't know the right people and if you are not into the research - probably your efforts will not achieve the result you expect because there are plenty of not very useful researchers who do not even want to become useful.
