Ask HN: Tutorials/Info on creating Hosted Web Apps?
Does anyone have any links to good resources or books that cover the logic and development of hosted web applications that provide users with their own website(such as Weebly)? Any tips on database architecture would be very helpful as well.
I'd prefer to work with Django or RoR but at this point, any information on this topic would help. Thanks!
- davidw 18y agoYou could buy the Rails book.
- swombat 18y ago"Agile Development with Ruby on Rails" will be a good starting point.
- mdolon 18y agoI realized the examples I used were not indicative of what I want to achieve. I actually have Agile Web Development with Rails somewhere in the house but I don't recall it covering the info I need. I need to create an application like Weebly, in which users are able to create a 'site' with it's own database. I'm primarily concerned about the database architecture of the site and how the user properties should be treated - basically some references for best practices in these situations.
