- watersb 3y agoThe violence of October 7 and Israel's subsequent razing of Gaza is abhorrent. Deciding you cannot support a company that directly provides tech to Israel, ok. But this is not a "Freedom of Expression" issue, or a First Amendment violation. The United States Constitution holds that no law may limit the right of peaceful assembly or freedom to express opinions. There are limits on speech or expression that harms others. I am not a lawyer and don't have any familiarity with California labor law. Employees fired by Google as a consequence of staging demonstrations on employer property... well. It does call attention to the cause. Is it unlawful termination?
- adastra22 3y agoFirst amendment protections have no bearing here. The first amendment is about laws: “Congress shall pass no law that…” The government is not involved here.

- palata 3y agoCould someone let me know why my comment here ("BREAKING - ...") was flagged? I just quoted the first sentence of the article for context, because I thought the title was too vague... Is that forbidden? Because then maybe the link itself should be flagged, not my quoting it :-/.
