- Barrin92 3y agoPeople under 35 in the US own homes at only marginally lower rates than boomers. (something like 55% to 60%), meanwhile home size has tripled. When boomers were kids half of all homes didn't have washing mashines or vacuums. Homes built with air conditioning in 1975: 20%, today 90%. You really think a millenial or gen z woman today in her 20s/30s with a degree and a job would want to trade that for being locked in a house without a job, any modern appliance and less space than she has in her flat?
