YouTube's ad blocker crackdown now includes third-party apps
- _flux 3y agoReVanced soon?
- sylware 3y agoyoutube market dominance has to be technically regulated in the first place, for instance interop with noscript/basic (x)html browsers (let allow the usage of the html <audio> <video> elements). They are plain evil and toxic for the world at forcing upon people their gigantic web engines (including their SDKs). This is not 'internet' this is compuserve all over again.

- wkat4242 3y agoThis really sucks. Because those apps are the only way to use SponsorBlock on mobile which is literally the only way that YouTube is still usable. I really hope this will push viewers away from the platform and get content creators to move to a better platform. I don't mind paying but I'd prefer my money no to go to an unethical company like Google, and also I don't want to still see ads (sponsors) when I pay for a premium sub. That's just unacceptable.
