Musk's greatest strength is that he is a rich investor that is willing to take chances on business ideas and back those ideas with his own money while also building hype for the product. The issue is that his approach translates poorly to a mature multibillion dollar company. Musk needs to step down from Tesla, SpaceX, and X and focus on his younger companies like The Boring Company.

Someone (like me) who buy shares in companies without contributing to their leadership and management is an investor. Someone who creates a company and lead them as CEO or CTO is not "an investor" but a businessman. >his approach translates poorly to a mature multibillion dollar company He made these multibillion companies from almost scratch. How can his approach "translate poorly"? Can you name one person who created as many billion-dollar companies as Musk?
- Salgat 3y agoTesla and SpaceX were built off the backs of brilliant engineers; what Elon did was provide funding, both personally and through other investors, while being a brilliant marketer. Up until he went off the right-wing deep-end that was his forte. Just his hyping of autonomous driving and Tesla as an innovative tech company years ago pushed the company to being more valuable than the Big 3 and Toyota combined, which in retrospect is a bit absurd.
