It took a few weeks, but it wasn't that hard to switch, and I'd used emacs for going on 20 years. That's not to say there aren't things it did better than VSCode -- it's a given that any switch between tools will have trade-offs. But it wasn't horrible. Escaping Emacs terminology ("buffers", "frames", etc.) was a big win, as far as I'm concerned.
