Students need to take some responsibility for their own finances and stop choosing the schools that cost $100k per year. Or, if that's really too much to expect from 18 year olds, then the student loan program needs reasonable price caps. It should probably be limited to the cost of in state tuition.

  The price is determined by what people will pay. The fundamental problem is: student loans + poor decision making = willing and able to pay too much
