This is awesome! We are living in a bit of a “Terminal Renaissance” over the last few years so I try to be free with praise and economical with criticism in this area in particular: quiet HCI revolutions like brilliant, modern terminal tooling, true color, full Unicode, rich fonts, great help screens, low-latency TUIs, great prompts at acceptable latency, these don’t get anything like the attention they deserve relative to e.g. natural language as a UI. NLP-inspired UI is great, but even then it’s still text, and I’ve seen even semi-technical users prefer slick stuff like gptel to a website.
The race seems to be on between golang and Rust for leading the way here: my current userland is like 80% Rust, 10% golang, and this or that bit of GNU without a modern alternative.
I know I have a bit of a reputation as a Rust hater (and I have said some… intemperate things I should have put better), but I really like this and wanted to call out to the folks who substantially kicked off this “Terminal Renaissance”, that was a very foresighted move by the community leaders and we all reap the rewards with things like zoxide, eza, rg, fzf, I mean there are just dozens of these things almost always in Rust or golang.
So as a very grateful user of such projects, keep it up!!!!!
