In an over-medicated society, this is a disaster. The same people telling you "you need to take X to deal with disease Y. Without X you'll cease to function!" are the same people saying "Gee, don't know why X isn't available, sorry..." Without any sense of irony or self-awareness. Perhaps if medical professionals saw fit to prescribe treatments within the grasp of their patients' means? If only the Hippocratic Oath covered things like harm against individuals...
