I think an analysis of the recovered hostages who were at the festival would be useful for comparison here (for example, if 40% of survivors were on psychedelics or MDMA [which I also consider a psychedelic] but 60% of recovered hostages from the festival were on psychedelics, it would paint the opposite picture).
- keepamovin 3y agoI don't think the article's even suggesting that - interesting you took it that way. But, if it reduces fear that could increase performance which it's reasonable to assume could increase your chances of escape. What do you dislike about this? Do you have something against hallucinogens?
- pcthrowaway 3y agoThe article quotes people speculating MDMA or LSD helped with their escape. I'm not even saying it didn't for those people. I have nothing against hallucinogens, but I personally suspect it could have made escape difficult (especially the heavily psychedelic ones like LSD) I've had some intense (and basically immobilizing) hallucinogenic experiences at festivals where I don't know I would have been able to distinguish gunfire and screaming from other auditory hallucinations, let alone plan an escape
- keepamovin 3y agoI understand, but in that case you've got to trust those people because they know first hand. Just because the article quotes them doesn't mean it's saying that. :) Haha! :)
