The isolinux package has boot methods that work on HDs, and are set up very similar to LILO. Not sure why it never took off with distros.

- endgame 2y agoI have fond memories of using SYSLINUX + MEMDISK to make DOS bootdisks which loaded themselves into RAM. Mostly to play games in the library.
