Tesla Software Update Traps Woman Inside 115-Degree Car
- FireBeyond 3y ago> Tesla warns owners that opening their doors or windows while installing a software update could damage the vehicle Such a steaming pile of dogshit. I shouldn't be surprised, given that a component manufacturer employee relayed this tale of an email exchange with Tesla: "Hey, we sent you over the new firmware for the component, check it out." (The test suite for this component takes approximately 36 hours to complete. Three hours later: "This is working so much better, thanks a lot!" "???" "Oh, we just flashed a car we have here and took it out for a spin." "?!?" Oof.
- qwerpy 3y agoSaw this headline and wondered what ridiculous interpretation of reality it took to get there, and this one didn’t disappoint. She never was actually trapped. Even if the electrical door release had stopped working (it hadn’t) there is still the mechanical release, which she consciously decided not to use. Because Tesla has a boilerplate warning against using the car while it’s updating.
