Stanford, 1968. From there on I continued to learn to code wherever I went. The darn field would not stop changing every 6 months or so! Same thing today. My current side project constantly demands I learn something new. Maybe it's time to stop and learn something else.
- JohnFen 2y agoOne of my life philosophies is "the moment you stop learning is the moment you start dying". When I find myself doing things that entirely consist of what I already know how to do, I change jobs or get a new hobby to do a project that involves something that I don't know how to do.
- hiAndrewQuinn 2y agoSame here. Within reason, I have always chosen jobs that maximize my learning ROI. Getting paid to learn is a dream come true for me, and I am deeply grateful to our industry for making it so that it didn't take a PhD to get there. :)
