But I'm still hoping they become sustainable and make it. I like using it and really do get great value from it.
- asdajksah2123 2y agoIt sounds like they consider it advertising. Sounds pretty reasonable if you ask me. Especially considering that they are profitable.
- rwbt 2y agoAre they profitable though? From the contents of these posts and emails mentioned in the article, it looks like they aren't yet.
- cube2222 2y agoOne of the emails explicitly mentions them being profitable since recently.
- babelfish 2y agoIt is reasonable to purchase advertising, it is not reasonable to spend 1/3 of your funding on a t-shirt factory for the sake of advertising.
- sshine 2y agoI’m no marketing expert. Doesn’t sound all that wrong to me.
- nicce 2y agoSince they are profitable, they are not that dependent of the initial investment anymore. They did not expect to get this many users, and then send the shirts as thank you. They money could have been used to hire new employees, but they decided to say thank you. I cannot criticize this since it does not seem to doom the company, while it might slow down a bit.
