Didn't expect something relevant to what I do to show up on HN. This has been a hot button issue for the last two years ever since the Markup did a report on hospitals sharing data with Facebook[0]. Since then the government has explicitly called this out as a problem[1] and a number of hospitals and related companies are dealing with fines and lawsuits[2][3][4] Given the government is actually enforcing the law for once, this is one of the few times I've seen people take regulation like this seriously.
