Just got a Daikin heat pump installed this past winter. Electric furnace is still used as a secondary heat source. Will have to compare more data over the last 12 months, but so far, power usage is way down. I can also integrate home assistant with the Daikin which can control all of the functions and it's also able to retrieve a lot of useful data that you can use for adjusting furnace and heat pump parameters. I can get credit from the power company during peak usage times and I'm able to have home assistant interface with the heat pump to maximize those credits as well. Very happy with the setup so far.
