With list on paper / screen I can compare things, go back & forth, do other stuff (like check my calendar) and the list is exactly where it was, trivial to pick up again. Listening to it? What a waste of my time and focus on something trivially and already solved. And use this during driving as some other mention? Sorry not a fan to say at least, it definitely impairs everybody who is driving to certain extent, humans simply don't have efficient parallel processing of things that require focus in this way.
