Intel's "Gaudi 3" AI accelerator chip may give Nvidia's H100 a run for its money
- billconan 3y agoisn't H100 the previous gen already?
- justinclift 3y agoYeah. It mentions that in the article, though the H100 seems to be available whereas the H200 is unobtainium (unless you're a massive cloud hyperscaler).
- kd913 3y agoThe h200 is unobtanium full stop. It is available at the end of the year possibly next year. At the moment, the things on the market and actually usable is H100 and mi300X.

- xs83 3y agoThe lead that Nvidia has over every other chip maker is as much in software and libraries as it is in technology. CUDA and the libraries that implement it (like Rapids.ai) make it easy for data engineers and others who need to use GPU's. Until the others provide this level of user friendliness I dont see how they compete.
- andrewstuart 3y agoIntel understands software far more than AMD.
- constantcrying 3y agoIntel also had a lot of trouble with the drivers for their recent discrete GPU.
- andrewstuart 3y agoOnly because it was new.
- xs83 3y agoThen I look forward to seeing Intel provide something as user friendly as CUDA for developers to use and for it to have things like RAPIDS.ai supported by Intel
- andrewstuart 3y agoImagine if there was true competition in GPUs and AI.
