This is a twitter/x advocate website. They're framing taking down misinformation as censorship and prosecution of January 8 rioters (same as January 6 in the US) as a bad thing instead of people winning stupid prizes for playing stupid games.
- matheusmoreira 2y agoAnd you're framing censorship and persecution as justice. You're just as guilty of "misinformation" as the people you're accusing.
- thiagoharry 2y agoNo censoring is happening. Brazilian law allows content to be removed in case of hate speech, for criminal investigations, when it disrespect electoral rules, and so on.
- matheusmoreira 2y ago... "Electoral rules" imposed by an unelected court which includes "fake news" which of course they define to be whatever they don't like. You have yet to provide any proof that any of the censored political statements were in fact false. Do you or do you NOT dispute the fact that Lula is a socialist and a friend of Maduro?
- thiagoharry 2y agoUnbased defamation, threats, and spread disinformation against elections and candidates, specially during elections always was illegal and subject to removal of content in Brazil. This even benefited Bolsonaro, when a person who posted a threat against him was criminally prosecuted and when the justice forbade merchandising material for a punk rock show because it referenced the fact that he was stabbed, and the justice considered incitation to violence. Again: if you say that someone was jailed just because posted "Lula is socialist", which is not even an offensive thing, you are the one who should prove, as nobody, presented any proof about this. But probably it was someone involved in crime or investigation that the far right is using to defend the ridiculous thesis of "brazilian dictatorship". Moreover, it is not Lula, but the justice court that ordered the removal. Most of the court is composed by the same judges that ordered Lula to be imprisoned in the past and rejected several of his appeals to be freed.
