Ugh, enough with this

It's really tiring; political comments on here have become reddit-level.

There is literally a guideline specifically about this. https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html > Please don't post comments saying that HN is turning into Reddit.

Huh, well regarding the snide political remarks that always follow mention of certain countries (i.e., non-Western) it has. Maybe we need a new guideline for that. I mean, can we just chat about the technical aspects of Neom or MateBooks or whatever without all the political stuff? There's other communities for that.

        > Maybe we need a new guideline for that. So, don't say anything demeaning about China or the CCP unless you write at least two (for now anyway...) paragraphs? Sounds like a reasonably good idea. 500 social credits for you.

There is literary a guideline specifically about the top comment: https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html > Eschew flamebait. Avoid generic tangents. Omit internet tropes. Or how about: > Please don't use Hacker News for political or ideological battle. That tramples curiosity.

Perfect, thanks for pointing that out!
