“Your lack of planning is not my emergency”
- surfingdino 2y ago"It was. Now you are fired." how it typically goes at startups.
- hiatus 2y agoThen the startup has to ramp up a hiring pipeline to backfill or dump the work onto someone else. Either way they won't get what they want.
- np- 2y agoA startup that is firing engineers on the spot who dare to disagree probably won't last much longer anyway. Best of luck with their "critical" deadline then...?
- willcipriano 2y agoI was worried about getting fired at these sort of places until I saw how they behaved when I quit a few of them.
- georgyserga 2y agoOr you just miss promotions, raises, bonuses because you didn't do enough, "moderate impact"
- falcor84 2y agoI must say that I prefer the slightly longer wording: "A lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on mine"
