Wait, what? They'll create artificial solar eclipses?
- zith 3y agoThey'll use one spacecraft to block the sun shining on the other spacecraft, yes.
- rcxdude 3y agoOnly for each other: it's more like holding up a plate to cover the sun, not making an eclipse for a large portion of the earth.
- mackman 3y agoDamn, this would have been a great way to combat global warming. We just need much bigger plates.
- bee_rider 3y agoThe idea of a solar shade to manage the amount of sunlight we get has been around for a while. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_sunshade https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_sunshade
- contravariant 3y agoWhat if we just nudge the moon into an orbit that always eclipses the sun?
