A few jobs back I had something like this (crowdstrike or something, not sure) and it used up all my CPU on a macbook pro.
My breaking point was when typing in VS code had multiple seconds latency, so you type and nothing appears, when node_module folder was being scanned.
I recorded my screen and sent to either VP of engineering or CTO, that granted me the permission to disable that abomination from my laptop.
