Ground-up chicken waste fed to cattle may be behind bird flu outbreak in US cows
- bell-cot 3y agoReading between the lines - it sounds like our agricultural system can't be bothered to heat the chicken waste hot enough to kill off pathogens, before serving it up to the next set of animals down their feed chain. But the article says not a word about that. Even though the it lays out that pasteurization of the milk is believed to kill the bird flu virus. (Admittedly - I would not expect any modern American newspaper to know about, care about, or mention any plausible solutions to any serious problems which they happened to be writing about.)
