German gallery fires employee for hanging own art in exhibition
- ProjectArcturis 3y agoIt was hilarious when Banksy did it. He released videos of him in an absurd costume sticking the painting on the wall of the museum. I heard an interview where he explained, "Well, it can take them a very long time to put you in the museum, so I figured I'd just cut out the middleman." This just seems like the same gag, but not as good.
- soco 3y agoWe actually don't know whether this gag is not as good - we couldn't see the painting. Because when the author is not a known name doesn't make his work bad. Although modern art being based so much on hype and/or stories, it's way too difficult to actually evaluate somebody's work.
- RecycledEle 3y agoI'd like to see one room with art done by the staff, or their art mixed in with special labels on it.
- analognoise 3y agoThis is hilarious and we should definitely let this person hang their art in the museum, and the rules are it only gets taken down if the patrons notice something "out of place" about the art. Like if you put some random scrap into a modern art museum, and everyone goes "Oh this is clearly modern art", the rule should be that you have to leave it in.
